The Baneposting Expanded/Extended Universe (BEU) encompasses all of the Banelore not contained within the original canon of the Plane Scene. The most important contributor to the BEU is the collection of additional scenes that can be viewed immediately following the Plane Scene, while examples of other media contained in the BEU are a novelization and motion-comic version of the Post-Credit scenes, however The Plane Scene itself is the only source of Banelore canon to be unanimously accepted in its entirety. While the BEU adds many layers of complexity and intrigue to the Baneposting Universe, Banescholars may disagree on the exact canonicity of some of the BEU content. One example of material that has been universally accepted and embraced is CIA's line "This can't be happening! I'm in charge here" from the novelization.

Although the works within the BEU are generally 'Nolan approved' or otherwise directly related to the Plane Scene, it is not out of the realm of possibility that other, non-Nolan works be included into Banelore as well.
