The crash of Germanwings Flight 4U9525 on 24 March 2015 was a frightening instance of the essence of Baneposting tearing through the fabric of reality. It is regarded by many as the greatest Banepost of all time.
Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, who had been suffering from mental health issues and depression, locked the pilot out of the cockpit before initiating a descent that caused the aircraft to crash into a mountain. All 148 people on board were killed.
