The crash of Germanwings Flight 4U9525 on 24 March 2015 was a frightening instance of the essence of Baneposting tearing through the fabric of reality.

Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz, who had been suffering from mental health issues and depression, locked the pilot out of the cockpit before initiating a descent that caused the aircraft to crash into a mountain. All 150 people on board were killed.

Baneposters were quickly alerted to the fact that there were too many details connecting the crash to the Plane Scene to be coincidental. For example, the flight (the code of which began as 4U) crashed near a town named Les Bains, there were no survivors, and the head investigator of the crash was named Bruce Robin.
